the name’s bond…

September 22, 2009

Did one of those personality tests online last night – bit of a refresher having not done one for several years.

Fear was that it would come back and say – really you are a bit rubbish (it didn’t)

My boy was looking my shoulder and asked what I was doing, “a personality test, you answer the questions and it tries to tell you about your character”.

“Dad, that’s great, I bet it comes back and says you are like James Bond”

How good is that!

the time is coming

September 22, 2009

“The winter is past, the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth, the seaon of singing has come!”

One year six months in – and one year 3 months moving out.

More of a statement of faith than reality – but the time is coming. God is good.

5 things on moving on that have “surprised me”

December 21, 2006

Weddings – I thought they would be a bore, But I have cried at almost all of them.

Funerals – I thought I would hate them. They have been a real privilage.

Formal worship (BCP) – Thought I would go to sleep, my spirit has been feed.

God in unusual places – Jesus just seem so show up when you least expect him.

Distant friends – We have managed to stay in touch – ome on men we can do it.

Unicycling life

December 11, 2006

Christmas shopping, moving house, leaving current job, prepping for
new job, prepping 6 christmas talks, two sick kids and just trying to
keep the head above water.

There is alot going on.

Learn’t to juggle and ride a unicycle when I was in secondary school (not both
at the same time). You can’t do it when your stressed out, you have to
relax into it otherwise you drop the balls.

Yet somehow with all that change and all this stuff to do, there is peace. God is good.

Mountain climbers

Mountain climbers

Originally uploaded by Mark Searle.

Life has been hectic recently, holday in wales with family, then coming back to find a new Job – amazing this was sorted in only five weeks, God is good.

One night on holiday I decided to climb the “mountain” behind the cottagewith our two eldest kids. We left after tea, lost the foot path early on and just marched straight up the side of this mountain thorough the brackern. As we got to the top it was dusk. Charlie and Emily did amazingly, I did not think they would make it. We came down in the dark, great fun, it would not have looked good on a risk assessment form, but then what does.

Dangerous, free living, enjoying the wonderful stuff God has made. Life abundant life. We were soaked from head to toe – but they loved it.

Life is an adventure, lived one bridge at a time, each bridge takes you deeper, at each bridge you have a choice. This picture says it all.
